Where to put the stock was a challenge. Since the start of January we'd been in the process of phase two of the house reno project - converting the loft. The house was covered in scaffolding, our dining room had been the builder's storage unit.

There's a number of reasons for this, primarily that as the house was stripped back to its bones we uncovered more and more things that needed fixing. Plus as work was ongoing, either the builders suggested changes we might want to make (that we generally did) or we changed our minds about things, which invariably causes a delay. What that does mean though, is that five months on, even if it's not where we thought it would be, the house is looking VERY different.

Three weeks in we instructed a local building company to take on the work, and they've now been there just over two weeks. It's been amazing to see quite how quickly a house can be taken apart in such a short space of time. Whereas before we had an admittedly tired house, which was in need of some work, we now have some brick walls, and only partial floors! We're needing to completely rewire the electrics and redo the ancient plumbing, so the house has been taken back to its bones.

The London Art Fair connects some 130 of the best galleries from around the world which provides a great opportunity to see some of the most outstanding contemporary art of today. It's been a yearly event since it was founded in 1989. Initially an exhibition of British art, it has expanded globally, and now around 25% of the art exhibitors are from around the world.
