Behind The Scenes: October 2024: Changes

Suffolk Skies

If you follow Albert & Moo on Instagram or Facebook you'll likely be aware of all this, but if you're not an awful lot has happened since I last wrote a behind the scenes post in the summer of 2020. Back then we were still living in Covid times, we were nearly finished our renovation in London and we thought life was full on!

But then 2021 happened. I had a baby and Albert & Moo was put on the back burner for a while.

And with our lives having changed so much in under two years, having spoken about it for many years we decided it was probably as good a time as any to move out of London. And so we started the process of relocating to Suffolk.

We didn't actually move until November 2022. The post Covid exodus out of London meant the rural house market was on fire and we kept getting outbid. Eventually we fell for a beautiful Grade 2 house slightly outside of our preferred area, and managed to submit the winning bid. By the time we eventually moved in our daughter was 18 months old. It took a while for us to settle in - moving from zone 2 London to a tiny village without even a shop is a big change! And with no childcare Albert & Moo was once again on the back burner.

But now it's 2024, my now three year old is at nursery four days a week, I've re-learned to drive and I'm finally able to turn my attention to my little biz again.

And also to another reno, because despite being well cared for, this house is VERY dated. Most of it hasn't been touched since the 90s. It's been perfectly livable but it does need a fair amount of tweaking and updating, and we've just had planning permission and listed building consent approval to make those tweaks and updates, so we'll be living out our finest reno life again soon!
